The Tie of the Day July 12th The Crayola Tie I normally wear this tie around the start of a new school year.  But yesterday I wore it in Honor of my friend Daniel Hatch.  Daniel died July 3.  I had know Daniel since he was a kid, hanging around my sister.  I knew his sisters from school and even served in the same mission as his oldest brother.   Daniel was like a little brother, and I guess at one time, he did live with my parents for a time.    Me and Daniel would have some lively debates over the years about politics, both of us have degrees in Political Science, but our most lively debates were about gay marriage.  At times there were some heated things said, but there was never a time that it was not followed up with a sorry of hurt feeling.  I know that he was celebrating the Supreme Court ruling that week, and I don't know if he and Tony ever got married, though I did not support gay marriage, I ways supportive of...

The Tie of the Month March 8th The Dublin City Tie This is another tie that I picked up on my vacation in 2002.  I served 7 months in Dublin which was about a 3rd of my mission.

The Tie of the Day March 1st The Book of Kells Tie Most people go on vacation and bring home magnets or post cards of where they went.  I sometimes bring home ties.  I got this one, in 2000, when I took my wife and my parents to Ireland.  We visited Trinity College where they have the Book of Kells.  The monks would spent years doing the art work and illustrations, to preserve the writings of the Bible.  This is just one of the many examples of there work.

The Tie of the Day February 22nd The Race Car Tie In honor of the Daytona 500 yesterday.  Daytona and its speed weeks has always been seen as the kick off to racing season with the 24 hours of Daytona just about a month ago.  Yes I know the short  track racing has been going on, but for the Professional Series, this is truly the beginning of the season.

The Tie of the Day December 23  The Travel Tie I know some are asking here, why are you wearing a travel tie at this time of year?  I know it is normally all Christmas Ties this time of year, but today was a special day.  Today I graduated from my Reservations Class at work.  OK, so were are still in On the Job Training for the rest of the week (tomorrow and Friday).  But we still have our 90 day probation and 120 probation periods to complete.  So we are half way through the 90.  So let here it to Class 4007, all ten of use that made it this far!
